Saturday 16 October Tutor: Valerie Bannister
Viking women enjoyed more freedom than any others in Europe until the 20th Century. Not because Viking men were 'in touch with their feminine side' but because of the requirements of society. Saga stories about real feisty women illustrate the tensions and developments of Viking Society, Scandinavia and Iceland, from 9th - 11th Century. The day will be supported with slides and 'Ripping yarns'!
Fee: £40
