A series of presentations and practical sessions to take you through the basic skills and pre-knowledge that a prospective beekeeper should have before embarking on this venture.

The course will cover:

* Natural history and life cycle of the honeybee

* Bee-friendly plants

* Siting your beehive

* The beekeeper's year

* Beekeeping equipment

* Keeping your bees healthy

If the weather is suitable, we will look into a colony of bees on-site: protective clothing will be provided.
