Welcome to Revolution Road
A recent article suggested that one of our foremost impressionists was struggling to find television work because the growth of multi channels had stripped the nation of commonly recognised figures. Actually that’s not the root of the problem.
It seems that we have arrived at the Age of Anodyne, where the Yobgods of popular culture espouse standards so breathtakingly low that our language is in desperate need of reinvention.
‘Mazingtriffic’ is the new ‘average’ and ‘sensational’ means able to either sing sometimes in tune or read from an autocue, but not both. That’s very sad for anyone who grew up in the Age of Aquarius when education was still considered an essential prerequisite for becoming a competent member of society.
Urchfont is one of a tiny band of revolutionary centres. By coming here you will be in at the beginning of a new world order, part of an underground movement engaged in a dangerous idea called learning.
You’ll find like minded revolutionaries, passionate about an incredibly diverse range of subjects. There will be tutors who can practice what they teach. Dea Birkett, Sam Newton, Bill Manning, John Kirkaldy, Peter Street, Nic Snashall, Rory Maclean, Maureen Duke, Valerie Oxley, Mike Shaw, Raymond Burley, Chris Howes and many more are ready to lead you on new voyages of discovery.
Of course because being a learning revolutionary is hard work we will provide the wonderful food and friendly staff we always do.
